cherry bookcase
The traditional shelf standards are what attracted me to this cherry bookcase design from finewoodworking.com. I’ve always disliked the hole & pin approach to supporting bookshelves and was looking for an alternative. I wasn’t aware of the traditional method of the shelf standard approach. The notches are a bit time consuming, but oh so worth it. In addition to the shelf standards, it also offered opportunities to design my own custom crown molding, ebony inlay, shiplap back and work on my dovetails.
